Ritchie first joined Rio Tinto in 1986 and has wide experience in legal, project and management roles in exploration, aluminium and industrial minerals.
He has held senior positions in Rio Tinto including as managing director of Dampier Salt (1997-2001), head of Business Evaluation (2001-05) and managing director of Rio Tinto Diamonds (2005 to present).
